This happened to me too. This is the most effective solution: don't give yourself a headache, just go to System > Recovery and click the "Reinstall now" button next to "Fix problems using windows update." It will reinstall your current version of Windows and won't delete your files.

I think clicking on MAX is overkill for most people and would likely cause them problems with things like running and installing programs and transferring files, etc. Best option would be interactive or high. It's a more balanced approached that provides protection without being too restrictive.
